Frequently Asked Questions

If you are in the general area of Houston you can participate.  We can establish teams for elementary, middle or high schools. School programs can be lunchtime intramurals, after school programs, or competitive. There is a competitive league in each quadrant of the city. 

For competitive teams, the season starts in mid September and ends with quadrant tournament games in February. City Championship games are in March.  Intramural & after school hockey programs run according to the schedule at each school or community group.

We have a number of generous community sponsors that cover registration fees and player equipment and other infrastructure.  For non competitive street hockey you will need gym clothes and running shoes.  For younger children, we would recommend using a proper hockey helmet with a cage.  For competitive street hockey you might wish to get protective cup, gloves, shin pads, or elbow pads.  Goalies are supplied with full equipment.

Yes, we can train athletic coaches / coordinators within a few hours on the basics.  We also have experienced volunteers that will help you get started.

Yes, you can have coed teams, or all boys, or all girl teams.
